What is Nordic Fest? it's a 2-day Nordic ski festival celebrating cross country skiing, biathlon, and snowshoeing, and it's coming to Ski Martock February 9-10. Nordic Fest will be hosted by the Martock Nordic Ski Club. The objective of Nordic Fest is to bring Nova Scotians of all ages and skiing abilities together to celebrate and participate in Nordic skiing in a fun, inclusive atmosphere. The Festival will feature both fun, recreational events to encourage participation and competitive races to showcase our region's best cross country skiers. Think of Nordic Fest like a fun run on snow!
Martock is a not for profit society. The event is hosted by our club and supported by Ski Martock, The Trail Shop, Cross Country Ski Nova Scotia, and Biathlon Nova Scotia.
Fun Biathlon Participation Event - NOT TIMED, Maximum 200 participants. Participants may classic ski, skate ski, or snowshoe the course. The goal is to encourage participation by making the event inclusive, fun, and non-competitive. If people can't ski they can snowshoe (and hopefully realize how much fun they're missing out on by not being able to ski).
Must be 8 years or older, but those with younger children can do the Nerf gun biathlon on skis or snowshoes. Come out and ski or snowshoe for 1km or 500m laps respectively (4 times) with 3 air-rifle target shooting in between.
Competitive Cross Country Ski Races - Free Technique (generally skate) Mass Starts. Will include members of the N.S. Provincial team and other competitive or recreational skiers from across the Maritimes. Something for all ages - from 1km or 2.5km for the younger participants to 5km, 7.5km or 10km for the older participants.
Delicious pancakes and sausages starting at 11:30 and continuing throughout the day for all participants.
Nordic skiing company representatives will be on site during the weekend and we'll have instructors from the Martock Nordic Ski Club available to give informal lessons and skiing tips to all participants.

Pricing & Tickets
Pricing: $20/event or $30/day (there are 2 events each day). The fee includes event fees, hot lunch (pancakes and sausages), and a limited edition microfiber neck tube. For anyone who doesn't have a Ski Martock the season pass the fee is an additional $15/day.
