Old Crow Medicine Show are the creators of "Wagon Wheel", one of the bestselling and most covered songs of the last decade. The song is a true phenomenon, un-paralleled in folk music's recent history.
While Old Crow Medicine Show's high energy and charismatic stage presence make them a favourite at big alternative festivals like Coachella and Bonnaroo, their Nashville credentials are just as strong with the more purist bluegrass audiences, with frequent appearances at the Grand Ole Opry and on A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor.
In 2011 Old Crow found themselves embarking on the historic Railroad Revival Tour with Mumford and Sons, and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. This tour had the bands riding a vintage train from California to New Orleans, playing shows along the way. The magic of this musical excursion across America's vast landscape is captured in the Emmet Malloy directed documentary, Big Easy Express. In 2013 Old Crow Medicine Show, along with the two other bands, won the Grammy Award for "Best Long Form Music Video" for the film.
It is no accident that Matt Andersen, now recognized internationally as one of the most impressive performers to emerge from Atlantic Canada will be supporting the show.
