Get nourished at our Wednesday Community Night @ the Market.
Join us for our rainbow celebration & community dinner! The Market will be awash in a rainbow of colour - with decorations and information about supports and services for our LGBT community. Many vendors will be offering rainbow-inspired food and products, there will be collectible Market Rainbow Pride Buttons, and we will learn about some Human Rights issues as part of our Speakers Series.
On the Speakers Stage
Ramona Jennex (5:30pm-5:45pm):
Cybelle Reiber of PrideHealth(5:45pm-6:00pm): The coordinator of prideHealth will be speaking on the programs and services of prideHealth and some of the poignant health issues faced by the LGBTQ population.
Heartwood (6:00pm-6:30pm): Sharing information about projects of Heartwood, and the Red Door for LGBTQ people and allies. As well, talking about the guidelines that are being created through the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development to support trans students and staff in school across Nova Scotia. This project involves a) gathering input from trans youth on the guidelines, and b) developing a resource guide for school staff to implement the guidelines.

Regular Weekly Activities
The $10 Market Supper (4pm-7pm): Just pay $10 dollars and in return get complimentary bread and salad plus $10 in coupons that you can use with any different vendor on any Wednesday.The Market Supper is enjoyed with real plate, cutlery, water glass and community seating. 30 Vendors Including; 10 prepared food vendors offering Market Supper options plus fruit, veggies, meat (pork, beef, chicken), eggs, tofu, bread, milk, cheese, cider, coffee, tea, soaps, woolens, jewellery, and spices.
Kids Corner (5-7pm): While caregivers enjoy the Market Supper or do some mid-week Market grocery shopping, kids are invited to partake in Kid’s Corner. There will be a variety of games, activities, arts, songs and stories to entertain the young market goers! Themed activities will be rotated throughout the summer to provide a wide selection of novel crafts and activities.
