In partnership with the Municipality of the County of Kings, the Wolfville Farmers’ Market is really excited to be hosting its first Heritage Night.   Together we will be showcasing, celebrating, sharing and learning about the many cultures that are part of our history and part of our community.

Learn about African Nova Scotian history with African Nova Scotian musicians Shoulder to Shoulder, get caught up on the Municipality’s Action Plan to end Racism in the County, learn how to make Rappie Pie with Les Amis de Grand Pre, or or enjoy a Mi’Kmaq basket weaving demonstration with Glooscap First Nation Elder Della Maguire.   Bring your local history questions to the Wolfville and Area Historical Society Booth where local history buffs can share there knowledge with you or to Box of Delights where local bookstore owner Mitzi DeWolfe can help you find one of the many locally written historical books to help you.  Find out the facts, myths or legends of Cape Blomidon.  Mi’Kmaq artists will have artwork for sale and kids will get to try their hand at Mi’Kmaq crafts led by Ross Creek Centre for the Arts.

Music (5:30pm-7pm): Shoulder to Shoulder:
Ranging from songs made popular during slavery to songs played on the radio today, the group promotes racial harmony and helps audiences learn more about the influence Black culture and history has had on music and entertainment to teach people about black history and promote multi-culturism.
