Ticket Auction to raise funds for Annapolis Valley Cheer Club
Viewing from 11:00am-2:00pm draw starts at 2:00pm.
Canteen on site with water, pop, juice and hotdogs.
LOTS of great items, certificates, git cards etc!!
This year we are working hard to raise funds to improve our equipment to better the training for our athletes.
Currently we rent out of local facilities and do not have a permanent location, this limits the equipment we are able to use, as it needs to be portable, quick to set up and take down. Equipment to suit our needs comes at a large cost and we do not have the funds on hand to make this happen.
At AVCC, we strongly believe in giving youth opportunities to better their skills, and as such we are holding a ticket auction to raise funds to offset the costs of this new equipment.
Cheerleading has offered something new to local youth (young girls in particular) who are not involved in other, more traditional, organized sports. I have had over 300 local youth (of which 95% have been female) from Hantsport to Middleton come through my program in the past 5 years. This program has offered them structure and taught them respect for self.
Cheerleading offers the values of traditional sports but targets youth who are interested in performance as well. Cheerleading and gymnastics, unlike dance where solos and duos dominate, focuses on the team working together to achieve a common goal - that being the performance of a flawless routine that incorporates stunts, dance, tumbling and gymnastics. Therefore they need to be fit, strong, athletic, learn to work as a team, have confidence and respect. AVCC fosters the growth and development of these youth while teaching them lessons in commitment, dedication, teamwork, and responsibility that they will carry with them in life well beyond the realm of cheerleading.
