Greg Dickie's love for the sea has been lifelong and comes both from growing up in coastal towns and cities and spending time on the water.
As a marine and landscape painter working in oils, Greg's landscapes are drawn from local scenes around Nova Scotia. They are based, in part, on years of hiking and canoeing in Nova Scotia's back country, time spent in the Annapolis Valley and an almost life long love of works by Tom Thomson and members of the Group of Seven. In his work he strives to capture that particular mood found in a vanishing way of life centered around quiet fishing villages or the open sea.
His work is in private collections throughout Canada, in the US, Europe and as far afield as Hong Kong.
Show continues until May 25th.
