Maritime Concert Opera presents an in-concert production of Strauss's sparkling operetta Die Fledermaus (The Bat). This show really puts the "Maritime" into Maritime Concert Opera. With the exception of MCO's favourite tenor, Lenard Whiting as the dashing Eisenstein, all the cast are Maritimers and most of them are Nova Scotians! Hear New Brunswick soprano and Dal grad Beth Hagerman as Rosalinda, Pictou County-born tenor Marcel d'Entremont as her lover Alfred and Dartmouth soprano Suzanne Rigden as Rosalinda's saucy maid Adele, all making their MCO debuts. Pleasantville baritone Lukus Uhlman returns (as Dr. Falke) along with Lunenburger Rob O'Quinn as Frank and MCO's Artistic Director Nina Scott-Stoddart as Prince Orlovsky! The MCO Chorus will be dressed up and singing along as the enthusiastic party guests. The cast will perform the opera in English translation to make sure the audience doesn’t miss any of the fun. Music Director Tara Scott will accompany the first three performances and will conduct the Rhapsody Quintet in the Lunenburg show.
