The return of the Local Projects Roundup where we give the floor to local New Media initiatives to highlight the amazing work being done here in the Valley. The focus of this round (which is round 5, BTW) are startups housed at the dynamic Acadia Entrepreneurship Centre's Innovation & Incubation space.

LaunchBox
Young Nova Scotians with good ideas and an interest in starting their own businesses will be able to connect with mentors, investors, and other supports with this new program hosted at the Acadia Entrepreneurship Centre. Melissa Quinn will discuss the inner workings of the LaunchBox entrepreneur sandbox.

DriftCoast
A medical device powered by a touchless control interface that will save millions of lives, founder Michael Chen will talk about their MARC catheter, his relocation from San Francisco to Nova Scotia, and what he's planning to do next.

FrostByte Interactive
John Frost will discuss their SaaS platform geared towards improving service delivery for students with accessibility and/or learning barriers. They're on version 2.0 of a suite they've branded as AccessDeck which is piloted at Acadia.

MusicPath
MusicPath is a system for connecting musicians, music teachers and music students over the Internet. Jim Diamond and Christoph Both will be discussing what MusicPath can do for music education and performance.

Acadia Institute for Data Analytics (AIDA)
AIDA works to advance knowledge in data analytics through collaborative and interdisciplinary research, education, and outreach to industry, government, and society in rural Canada. Wesley Booth will discuss AIDA areas of work including industry seminars and research projects using data analytics to improve melon and maple syrup yields.
