Please join us in our Outreach Programming Studio at the Acadia University Art Gallery for our series of Adult Art Workshops:
Discovering Bas-Relief: A workshop in Clay
Time : September 23 – October (5 weeks) Tuesdays 7 – 9 pm
This workshop will allow you to discover the fascinating world of relief sculpture, halfway between painting and sculpture in the round. Over five weeks, Students will be led to approach volume, light and shadow first through drawing then through building up subjects in clay.
Note: All materials are provided. No previous experience with clay is necessary although some drawing experience is helpful.
About the instructor : Elizabeth Sircom received her art training in Paris. She returned to live in Nova Scotia in 2013 after living for 20 years in Normandy, France, where she worked as an artist and gave weekly art classes to adults, and workshops to children. In her own work she has explored a wide variety of media, often on a portrait theme, and presently focuses on clay sculpture.
