Dr. Paul Doerr “Touring the Western Front: Remains of the War”

This talk considers the impact of Western front tourism. How have the preserved battlefields of the Western front have shaped our awareness and memories of the First World War? How have the remains of war impacted the events of the decades to follow?

Speaker Bio: Dr. Paul Doerr teaches European, diplomatic and military history at Acadia University. He is currently head of the History and Classics Department and author of an acclaimed study of British foreign policy between the two World Wars.

Followed by a reception in the art gallery.

A special thank you to the Department of History and Classics, and the Harrison McCain Foundation Awards.
