Coat of Many Colours - the genetics of coat colour in domestic cats presented by Linda Ellis
Come on out and hear our speaker of the month Linda Ellis. Linda describes herself as “Armed with a graduate degree from The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - Graduate School of Biomedical Science “ She taught Genetics and Molecular Biology at Monmouth University in NJ and St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies, where she remains as visiting faculty in Genetics.
This presentation was originally written to serve as a laboratory experience for students in population genetics because gathering genetic information from a population of cats is so easy. They are great subjects; all you have to do is look at them to gather data. The topic promises to be informational and entertaining. For you dog lovers much of the information is applicable to dogs as Linda tells us she is “an equal opportunity pet lover!”
The Newcomers’ Club welcomes all residents of the Annapolis Valley. You don’t have to be a newcomer to come to the meetings or to join the group: long-time residents are welcome too!
This is a great place to meet new people, learn about the area, and forge a sense of community.
