Learn about sustainability initiatives and innovations being cultivated, discovered and used in the Valley with over ten different organizations.   This year we have a Repair Cafe where local businesses and organizations will share skills on how to build, repair, and maintain everyday items or even your garden. You can learn some preserving skills from the Acadia Community Farm at our Good Food Hub and there will be a kid’s corner all about making crafts using recycled materials!  Come for our Wednesday Community Market and Market Supper with over 25 vendors, live music with Leah Morise, and learn what practices and tools you can use to make sustainable lifestyle choices on your land, in your life and in your home.

SUSTAINABILITY  Participants:

Acadia Community Farm - The Acadia Community Farm will be promoting the community farm initiative happening at Acadia University. Along with Tzomi Burkhart, they will also be providing a workshop Q&A session on making preserves.

Blade Runner Sharpening - Providing services in sharpening knives, scissors, and garden tools

Bullfrog Power  - Answering the question, how you can use 100% green energy to power your business?

Denim Homes - Denim Homes will be here to answer questions as well as showcase energy-efficient building construction methods and products

Envirosphere Consultants Ltd. - Promoting and answering questions about Water Quality Testing for private well owners, agriculture and industry purposes.

Just Us! Centre for Small Farms - Got bad soil?  Poor drainage? Too hard? Not as lively as it used to be? Let the Just Us! Centre for Small Farms share some tips on mulching, cover crops, fertility, and other elixirs to bring back that bounce that your garden used to have.  Simple, low-tech practices that can be implemented this year to get ready for fall or for next spring.

MechaniCALL - Dan is a small engine technician and will be here to answer questions and demonstrate how things may be repaired instead of tossing them away and buying new.

No Faux - Showcasing sustainable fashion made with natural materials, craftsmanship, and quality valued by more than just one 'consumer'.

RE Used Resale Co-op Ltd.  - Promoting their social enterprise, a community-minded second-hand shop, called RE, a Co-op founded and run by Eve and Rachel. They have five main objectives, including saving useful things from the landfill, offering inexpensive second-hand goods, giving a hassle-free way to offload useful unwanted things, providing upcycling inspiration, and helping to support the community.

SAGE Energy - SAGE Energy offer renewable, electrical, and sustainable services in the Maritimes. Centrally based in Windsor, Nova Scotia, they have been involved in grid-tied and battery based, residential and commercial, renewable, electrical or sustainable energy services.
