Have you caught the buzz about Citizen Science? Citizen scientists are dark sky mappers, supernova hunters, butterfly chasers, Chimney Swift counters, bird-feeder watchers, milkweed planters, bat reporters, water-quality monitors, phenology trackers, GPS mappers, big-data crunchers and DIY nature nerds. There are now hundreds of ways the average Maritimer can easily contribute to exciting and important scientific research while on a computer, in a workshop or in the field. And you and your family can learn how.
Join us at the inaugural Blomidon Naturalist Society Citizen Science Expo.
The Citizen Science Expo is an afternoon of displays and presentations by organizations leading citizen science projects. Here, you can learn which projects you and your family can get involved with and who (or what) can most benefit from your passion, time and observations. This is a great opportunity for individuals of all ages to find a niche for their passions, and for organizations to promote their projects and recruit volunteers.
If your organization would like to set up a display or give a presentation at the event, please contact the BNS Program Coordinator, James Churchill ([email protected]).
