The Music Man opened on Broadway in 1957, and the production earned 5 Tony Awards. The show has since inspired two movie musicals and two Broadway revivals. The plot revolves around con man Harold Hill as he attempts to swindle the naïve Iowa townspeople of River City. Along the way, he falls in love with the town's lovely librarian and inspires all with the joy of music. The Music Man is famous for such classic songs as “76 Trombones,” “Goodnight Ladies,” and “’Til There Was You.”
