Exploring Our Communities Through Song! A concert celebrating maritime culture performed together by BC and NS choirs!
The Annapolis Valley Honour Choirs and British Columbia’s Coastal Sound Children’s Choir exchange music and stories in this spirited concert that explores our coastal communities and coastal industries, through the lens of choral music.
Hear beloved folk songs from BC and Nova Scotia, Canadian composers Sarah Quartel, Brian Tate, Eleanor Daley, Lloyd Arntzen and more. Local composer and music educator Donna Rhodenizer has arranged a piece especially for this tour and these concerts will be the Nova Scotia premiere.
These two choirs have been on a cultural exchange through SEVEC, a government funded exchange program, and have already completed one half, with AVHC Junior Choir travelling to Coquitlam and Vancouver BC in April. Having shared our stories through culture, laughter, song in BC, the NS singers are now thrilled to welcome their new friends to Nova Scotia!
