It's our 20th anniversary!
More than 80 artists visit Annapolis Royal on August 15 and 16 for the annual Paint the Town© event. Throughout the weekend, they will paint or carve or shape iron at various sites around the town. The public is invited to watch the artists at work throughout the day – bids can be placed on art as soon as it reaches the Paint the Town gallery located at the Legion on Victoria Street; between 10am and 6pm. Final bids by 6pm each day. See something you can’t live without – purchase it at a “buy-it-now” gallery price, valid until 5pm.
Participating artists have ranged from emerging talent to such well-known names as Rose Adams, Wayne Boucher, Geoff Butler, Tom Forrestall, Brad Hall, David Lacey, Barbara McLean and Felicity Redgrave. They work in all styles, from traditional to contemporary, in a variety of media including oil, acrylic, watercolour, iron, stone, wood, and photography. In previous years, they have produced an average of over 500 pieces of art over the weekend.
Paint the Town is organised by ARCAC, and proceeds from the auction art sales are split 50/50 between the organization and the artists.
