MAKE EVERY VOTE COUNT: Proportional Representation, Electoral Reform & You.
Do you feel like you can't vote for your preferred party or person because you have to vote strategically, or vote for the "lesser evil"? Don't think you are being represented adequately in Ottawa?
Now that we have a more progressive (we hope) group of people elected to govern for the next 4 years we have to move quickly to avoid being stuck with a 'first-past-the-post' for the next election.
This evening's presenter, Bill Zimmerman, will examine the pro's & con's of Proportional Representation (PR), present a few of the options that exist and yet other "electoral reforms" that aren't really PR.

☛ Cinéma Politique is a gathering of politicos & the curious who are interested in exploring modern political phenomenon through video & discussion. Topics vary month-to-month, sometimes a miscellany of topics, sometimes focusing on a single topic, depending on the speaker.
We are currently looking at the path forward and ways in which we can contribute to a better electoral system and a more effective democracy.
