Who's Selling Us Fear & Doubt?
A look at the way the PR machines create doubt to undermine scientific knowledge and increase corporate bottom lines. This has been happening for ages, becoming more sophisticated over the past 50 years as media & governments have been overtaken by neo-liberal corporations. From cigarettes being recommended by doctors & dentists paid by the tobacco companies to the climate change deniers paid by fossil fuel companies, or even our politicians provoking fear & loathing of a variety of entities (think environmental advocates, peace & justice activists, immigrants & so on) our world is being spun by PR doctors.
Come out and view the film clips, add to the discussion afterwards, and becoming media savvy as to how the new feudal system is getting set up.

☛ Cinéma Politique is a gathering of politicos & the curious who are interested in exploring modern political phenomenon through video & discussion. Topics vary month-to-month, sometimes a miscellany of topics, sometimes focusing on a single topic, depending on the speaker.
We are currently looking at the path forward and ways in which we can contribute to a better electoral system and a more effective democracy.
