In Aug. of 2015 my Aunt Sharon Stewart a lung cancer patient went to the out patients emergency room of our local hospital to be treated for a severe headache that was not giving any signs of release anytime soon.
She was given a mild dose of pain medication to ease her pain. Long story short it acted as a respiratory suppressant and my aunt was left without oxygen for a period of up to 25 minutes before she was discovered to no longer be breathing. Due to this unforeseen circumstances she has suffered severe brain damage.
She is currently in rehab in Halifax learning to do everything all over again and many things she will not be able to do again. Her recovery thus far has been nothing short of miraculous and the family is so grateful to still have her.
The Kentville legion on river street branch 6 is hosting a benefit dance for her.
Free will offering at the door and entertainment is provided by Bev Sheffield.
