Doors open at 7pm
Join us for our Monthly Meeting.
Our April guest speakers are Shawn and Laura Davidson, two life-long Gaspereau Valley farmers, who operate Dabro Farms. They will talk about the joys and challenges of operating a multi-generational family farm based on their dairy cowherd, chickens, and their farm store. They overview the Supply Management system and the proposed Trans Pacific Trade treaty and how that affects food security and the future of their industry and way of life.
The Newcomers’ Club welcomes all residents of the Annapolis Valley. You don’t have to be a newcomer to come to the meetings or to join the group: long-time residents are welcome too! Bring your favourite small coffee cup and enjoy fresh perked coffee and a sweet treat.
Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month in the Wolfville Farmers’ Market Building, and are open to the public. They feature informative speakers on topics of local interest. Members can participate in the many interest groups, from biking to gourmet cooking and theatre-going. This is a great place to meet new people, learn about the area, and forge a sense of community.
