Doors open at 5:30pm
After a wonderful summer, there's some more business to take care of (such as donating more than $10,000 to charity).
A few important notes:
1. We'll have food this time: Joey Murphy (fellow member) has kindly agreed to provide finger foods for all! Food will be served beginning at 5:30pm, with the meeting itself starting at 6:30pm. In order to ensure the meeting is started and finished on time, the food will vanish at 6:15pm so be sure to arrive early if you're hungry. The whole meeting will wrap by 7:30pm. A cash bar will be available beginning at 5:30pm as well.
2. We have two special new charity prize sponsorships (89.3 K-Rock and Red Letter Philanthropy Counsel), which will benefit not only the recipient charity but the two non-recipient charities as well. We are blown away by the generosity of our business community.
3. Please bring a blank cheque for $100, which you will fill in later in the evening (writing it directly to the recipient charity). If you do not have cheques, cash is also good. Unfortunately, credit cards can’t be accepted at this time.
4. If you cannot attend on the 13th, please make arrangements to send your cheque with another member so that he can bring it and complete it on your behalf (and give it to the recipient charity).
5. Our three presenting charities have been randomly selected and notified from those nominated by our members. They will remain a mystery to members until the night of the event (to keep it suspenseful mostly, but also to prevent any member lobbying in advance). Overall, there are now more than 70 registered local charities nominated by our members.
6. Please continue spreading the word! We will never stop accepting new members – the more the merrier.
