Kings Historical Society presents Jenna Colclough and Wendy Robicheau in an evening devoted to exploring how the students and staff of Acadia University, the Acadia Collegiate Academy, and the Acadia Ladies Seminary responded to the First World War. This promises to be a fascinating evening of stories. One hundred years ago, Acadia University's convocation ceremonies were an impressive spectacle. President George Barton Cutten, never one to miss an opportunity, presided over the Baccalaureate Service in full khaki. The band of the 85th Battalion of the Nova Scotia Highland Brigade played. Also there, the Brigadier and other senior officers. The message was clear -- DO YOUR BIT. This was a wartime convocation.
