Praying Our Goodbyes with Christy Ann Conlin: Held on All Souls’ Day, a particular day in the Church year when we remember departed loved ones, this year is structured around a series of readings by local writer Christy Ann Conlin from her books The Memento and Heave. It will also include prayer, the lighting of candles to remember loved ones, and music. The service begins in the Church cemetery with a candlelit reading from The Memento, so dress warmly. Christy Ann will also lead a discussion about how we remember the dead, the “mementos” we hold onto, the memories that haunt us, and why it can be so hard to let go of those we love who have died.
