Talk Life Community in the Valley presents, Hot & Bothered: Menopause: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
Does the thought of menopause get you all hot and bothered?
Like it or not, menopause is in every woman’s past, present or future, but with a little advice, it doesn’t have to be a dreaded topic.
Talk Life Community will be presenting a panel discussion on the good, the bad and the ugly of menopause featuring naturopathic doctor, Jyl Bishop and menopause survivor Nancy Henry.
Jyl Bishop Veale has been a Naturopathic Doctor in private practice at the Wolfville Naturopathic Clinic since 2000. Jyl will present menopause as a period of transition that takes place in a woman’s life between the ages of 40-60 and beyond. Information and options for women can sometimes feel overwhelming and Jyl will discuss how each woman’s unique individuality can help in the decision making.
Nancy Henry, best known for her involvement with CentreStage Theatre and Kikima Grannies, will provide some first-hand survivor stories.
A cash bar will be available. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Chrysalis House.
During the evening, the Kings Kikima Grannies will be selling gently used jewelry for a freewill donation. Funds go towards helping grandmothers in Kenya who are raising their grandchildren because their parents died from AIDS. Please bring any donations of previously-loved jewelry.
Talk Life Community is a roaming talk café for women. TLC was created by three friends and focuses on the joys and challenges we all face regardless of age and experience. Our goal is to share stories from those who have been there, don’t hat. With so many creative, courageous, intelligent and accomplished women in the Valley, we believe you will leave a TLC event feeling better then you arrived.
