The Acadia School of Music’s “Concert and Lecture Series” presents a lecture-recital this Thursday, January 19, at 11:30am, featuring pianist Stephen Runge.
Titled “A Century Passed: Music for Solo Piano from 1916-17”, Runge’s lecture-recital will explore music for solo piano from one hundred years ago. The music featured on this program, from Russian, French, and American composers, was written in the midst of the First World War, and is in turn, passionate, reflective, angry, and consoling.
