Annapolis Royal Citizens rally to save Fort Anne after Blockhouse demolished - special re-enactment of 1917 Town Hall meeting - In 1916 the citizens of this small town petitioned the government to preserve the fort as a national historic site, the first of its kind in all of Canada. Join Annapolis Royal Town Council, community members and Parks Canada as they re-enact the pivotal events that led to its momentous designation on January 24th, 100 years ago! Be prepared to travel back in forth in time and space. The entertainment begins outside at the Courthouse at 10:00 a.m., reconvenes at Town Hall and finally ends at the Officers’ Quarters museum with a special sneak peek of the new exhibits set to open in June followed by a celebratory gathering. This event was rescheduled from Jan. 24th.
