The Acadia New Music Society is thrilled to host composer Dorothy Chang as our SOCAN Foundation Composer-in-Residence during our 9th annual new music festival. "The music of composer Dorothy Chang has been described as "evocative and kaleidoscopic” (Seattle Times) and praised for its colourful scoring and range of dramatic expression. Her music is rooted in the Western art music tradition but often reflects the eclectic mix of musical influences from her youth, ranging from popular and folk music to elements of traditional Chinese music."
