Guest Speaker: WENDY ROBICHEAU, ACADIA ARCHIVIST
The Newcomers Club meeting will wet your appetite for more knowledge about the history that surrounds you in Nova Scotia. Few can be more qualified to speak on the topic than the Acadia University Project Manager and Deputy University Archivist Wendy Robicheau. With plenty of audience participation she will address the subject of Acadia University in the War. You've driven by the cenotaph at the University so many times. Now find out what it really means; its heroes and heroines before Remembrance Day arrives...guaranteed to stimulate your inner archivist. Admission is free and coffee and cookies are at hand.
The Newcomers’ Club welcomes all residents of the Annapolis Valley. You don’t have to be a newcomer to come to the meetings or to join the group: long-time residents are welcome too! Bring your favourite small coffee cup and enjoy fresh perked coffee and a sweet treat.
Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month in the Wolfville Farmers’ Market Building, and are open to the public. They feature informative speakers on topics of local interest. Members can participate in the many interest groups such as off-road biking, gourmet dining and bridge. This is a great place to meet new people, learn about the area, and forge a sense of community.
