Every year, to mark the beginning of the shopping season in Downtown Kentville, and to get in the holiday mood, hundreds of Kentville residents come out to take part in the annual Torchlight Parade and Skating Party!
Residents line up at Town Hall starting at 6:00 pm to parade with Santa around the town, to arrive in front of the town Christmas tree where they wait with anticipation for the countdown to begin as the sounds of Christmas carols fill the night air. Those wishing to view the parade can line up around the centre block of Town, and join in the caroling as the parade marches by. When it is time, the crowd chants in unison as Mayor Snow counts down from ten. At the exact moment the crowd reaches one, the Town comes alive with festive holiday lights. Festivities continue at Centennial arena where residents enjoy a free family skating party complete with holiday goodies and a visit with Santa. Come be part of the magic in Downtown Kentville this holiday season!
