Featuring Gary Ness, on the Dominion Atlantic Railway
If you have ever wondered while biking or hiking the old railway trail what tales that old track could tell... If you've gazed at the railway hotels and thought about the ballrooms and the classic architecture... and if you hear Gordon Lightfoot’s Railroad Trilogy song when he sings ..."we are the navvies who work on the railroad"....then let your imagination soar and we'll take you back to the days when the Dominion Atlantic Railroad was a thriving connection to the Canadian Dream. Come listen, question, see the wonderful photos of Gary Ness, Professor Emeritus, Kinesiology Acadia U. and we guarantee you'll see that old trail through different eyes.
The Newcomers’ Club welcomes all residents of the Annapolis Valley. You don’t have to be a newcomer or a Wolfville resident to come to the meetings or to join the group: long-time residents are welcome too! Bring your favourite small coffee cup and enjoy fresh perked coffee and a sweet treat.
Meetings feature informative speakers on topics of local interest. Members can participate in the many interest groups such as needlework, book club, off-road biking, hiking, snowshoeing, Food & Fun, gourmet dining and bridge. This is a great place to meet new people, learn about the area, and forge a sense of community.
