Sugarloaf Mountain (formerly known as the Bluegrass Bandwagon) is a bluegrass quartet based in Antigonish, NS. The members of the band - Betsy MacDonald (vocals, rhythm guitar and banjo), Donald MacLennan (violin, mandolin and vocals), Carl Laudadio (upright bass and vocals) and Mark Higgins (lead guitar and vocals) - are longtime musical collaborators who bring together diverse musical influences. Together they perform a mixture of old bluegrass favorites, contemporary bluegrass and country songs as well as original material. Sugarloaf Mountain holds a biweekly matinee at Piper's Pub in Antigonish and has been joined by such guests as the Grass Mountain Hobos, Crowdis Bridge and Jess and Greg.\n\nSugarloaf Mountain recently recorded a 6-song EP in Boylston, NS that includes two originals and some favorite covers. The album showcases the band's unique sound, defined by strong harmonies, clever arrangements and down-to-earth charm. http://www.myspace.com/sugarloafmountain
