Sea-Esta presents Ian Janes is a singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer living in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
In March of 2017 CMT’s “Nashville” closed it’s Season 5 ‘mid-season finale’ with Ian's song "Can't Remember Never Loving You” which vaulted into the U.S Top 50 iTunes chart the week after the show's airing, as recorded by the show’s two stars - Connie 'Rayna' Britton and Charles 'Deacon' Esten. The cast version has since racked up over 265k streams and127k+ YouTube views. The song was co-written with veteran Nashville songwriter Byron Hill (George Straight, George Jones, Ray Charles, Dionne Warwick).
Ian’s version of the song features his unique, soulful vocals and guitars along with gospel-tinged piano & organ, upright bass and expressive pedal steel guitar.
Janes’ latest release,Yes Man, has been met with immediate and overwhelmingly positive critical acclaim. The record was given 4 out of 5 possible stars by Rolling Stone France, chosen as ‘disc of the day” by Le Journal de Montréal, and has received glowing reviews in “Alternative Rock Press” and “Bob Mersereau’s Top 100 Canadian Singles” to name a few. On September 12th, 2017 Ian was nominated for 4 Music Nova Scotia awards. A bilingual artist, Janes’ current french single,“À perte de vue”, was released in early September 2017 and by late December had climbed up to #14 on the Canadian francophone charts.
Increasingly in demand as a songwriter for hire, Ian’s songs have recently been recorded or performed by The Julian Taylor Band, new country artist Danielle Bourjeaurd (Ole- Red Dot) and The James Barker Band (Universal).
