Bill has been playing folk music semi-professionally in Nova Scotia for almost 40 years and specializes in traditional English, Irish and Scottish songs. He has played in several folk bands including Starba’rd Side, Great Blue Heron, and Off With Their Heads. In recent years, he has played numerous shows and toured across the country with his son, Joel Plaskett, most recently in 2017 in support of their award winning recording Solidarity.
Tony has been in the professional entertainment business for over 40 years and is most widely known for his unique style of musical comedy, his quick wit, and his ability to adapt easily to the mood of his audience. As a young man he played in several well-known rock ‘n roll bands including Molly Oliver and the Sam Moon-Matt Minglewood Band. In more recent years, like Bill, he has worked closely with his daughter, Shannon, as her career in music, both as a performer and as a teacher, has grown; and, together, they have performed as a duo both at home and internationally.
For this show, Tony and Bill bring their shared love of the music, their guitars in complementary tunings, and their voices in unison and harmony.
