Internationally renowned folk veteran James Gordon will be facilitating a community songwriting workshop in Wolfville. In collaboration with the Annapolis Valley Honour Choir, James will bring the depth of experience that can only be amassed after 40 years of performance and writing 1500 songs (including classics like Frobisher Bay and Mining for Gold). Beyond his work as a singer-songwriter, Gordon has also arranged music for choirs, written several pieces for theatre (including Stephen Harper: the musical), and penned a full-length folk-opera, titled Hard Scrabble Road. You can read more about James through his website: jamesgordon.ca
How it will work:
James will facilitate a two-hour group workshop (with a brief intermission) and collaboratively write a song. Using this practical example, the workshop provides an excellent vehicle through which James can share some of his "tricks of the trade", and tested exercises for songwriting. Once the group's song has been completed, James will record it and send the finished product & lyrics to the participants!

There are only 25 spots available - this will sell-out!
