On December 27, 1944 the German submarine U-877 blundered into the New York to Liverpool convoy HX327. It was detected, attacked and destroyed by the Canadian corvette HMCS St.Thomas. This incident is a very rare if not unique case of a submarine sunk in combat without any loss of life. Veteran ERA Ralph Lloyd was manning the throttle of the corvette, and shares his recollections with the younger generations. Presented by Jean-Pierre Cahorn. Registration is required.
