Our guest speaker will be Linda Best with a presentation about FarmWorks Investment Co-operative Limited, an innovative Community Economic Development Investment Fund (CEDIF) created to provide financial support to agriculture.
Linda Best (BSc Acadia) grew up on an Annapolis Valley farm. During a varied career she has been a medical researcher; Director of Capital District Health Authority; operated an apple orchard and founded Frame Plus Art. Awareness of food-related health issues led her to help establish Friends of Agriculture and to found FarmWorks Investment Co-operative Limited, a Community Economic Development Investment Fund.
From 7.00 - 7.30 we will have a "meet and greet" session where members can socialize and we will be happy to welcome anyone who might be interested in becoming a member.
