Sara Ericsson is a songwriter-meets-soul singer who hails from Ottawa and has lived in Nova Scotia since her time at Acadia University. She's traveled the province telling people's stories as a journalist - on land in a car and on the ocean in a lobster boat - and has played at venues and open mics in each place she's lived. Her musical influences are all over the map, from Canadian mainstays like Feist, Alanis Morissette and Joni Mitchell to the soulful sounds of Otis Redding, Leon Bridges and Adele. Sara is now trying storytelling of a different kind and is finding her voice as a songwriter, and is working towards recording her first EP this year - a project inspired by her love of both Canadian contemporary and Motown sound.
