Art Journalling
Thursday March 21, 2019  3pm - 5pm (2 Hours)
Workshop / Class

Picture It - A thousand words, and none suitable to explain your thoughts. Art Journaling allows you to do just that. Tap into your creative brain in an easy and fun way, and let your logical mind relax and release onto a pure space with color, texture and shape.
You don’t have to be an artist to have an art journal! If you can use a pencil, wield a glue stick and rip paper, you can make an art journal. The beauty is in the creation process, not the end result, and you will never have to share your pages with anyone unless you want to. No more long winded writing pages detailing your day - put it together on a page and tell a visual story instead.
In this workshop, you will: - Learn the basics of creating an art journal page - Discover how to incorporate written words onto your images - Experiment with many different tools and techniques to make your mark - Create a deeply personal, visual recollection of a memory in a non-judgemental and supportive setting. - Learn that it’s okay not to be perfect all the time
Kathleen Moir is a therapeutic artist and photographer based in Windsor, NS. She can barely draw a stick person, but has an obsession with dot mandala painting.
Art Journaling is not an art therapy group. This is a hands-on therapeutic creative activity for self-exploration.
Ages 10-16, please register as space is limited.

This program is sponsored by a Community Grant from the Nova Scotia Department of Justice.
