We are in for a sweet treat to greet spring. Perry Brandt, of Brandt’s Bees will talk about bee keeping. He will be discussing the role honey bees play in our lives, and what might be expected if we lose them. He will show an overview of a year in the life of a colony and some of the obstacles they face. A brief discussion of the benefits we enjoy, and how honey is harvested is also explained.
Perry says: “I am just an ordinary guy that was incredibly lucky enough to have found my “thing”, that thing being the honey bee. I have always said that anyone who is lucky enough to find that thing that they are “supposed” to do in life is very fortunate. Keeping bees is what I supposed to do”.
With people like Perry there is hope for bees!

Unlike other clubs we are not just about a monthly meeting. We have many interest groups- a great balance for healthy living!
The Newcomers’ Club welcomes all residents of the Annapolis Valley. You don’t have to be a newcomer or a Wolfville resident to come to the meetings or to join the group: long-time residents are also welcome. We provide community lore and wisdom! BRING YOUR FAVOURITE SMALL COFFEE CUP and enjoy fresh perked coffee and a sweet treat.
