Many of you may know Earl Martin the cab driver who goes the extra mile for everyone! Earl is always the steadfast hero that has come to the rescue for myself and pretty much all of my friends. I can't count how many times he has dropped us off in the middle of nowhere late at night, told us to call him before the end of his shift (3am) so we don't get stranded. And of course when the good times are rolling you're not paying attention to the time, so 3:30-4am Earl will come from nowhere to round us all up and get us home safely. He has even gone so far as to get out of bed and picked us up with his own vehicle if we are ever in a bind. Earl is the type of person who is extremely rare in this world, he is the type who genuinely cares for others. Over the years Earl has become a father figure to many of us! He is always honest and trustworthy, he is always there to rescue you from anywhere or anyone, he listens to you with his whole heart, he never forgets who you are, where you live, who your family is and all your secrets. This man is one of a kind, emphasis on KIND!

Recently Earl been struggling with some very serious health concerns; he lost 86% of his liver function and is desperately trying to better this situation through diet and management of medications. He has been put off work by his doctor indefinitely and now on top of all that stress he recently experienced a devastating flood in his basement which has destroyed the use of that part of his house. After an assessment of his foundation he found out that the problem is going to continue to get worse, the cinder block foundation has deteriorated and the only solution given was to lift up the house and lay a new foundation. Earl went to his insurance company to attempt to get some help, only to be turned away. Apparently they will not cover "seepage" issues. Heartbroken, Earl went home and tried to clean up the mess as much as he could with his families help. This only made his health condition worsen, now depression has set in and all he wants to do is sleep. It just breaks my heart to know that he is in such a state. After the years of him being there for others he is at the end of his rope, fed up and alone to cope with one tragedy after another.

Please join our fundraising campaign to help Earl Martin, and make sure that he knows that he is not alone and that all of his kindness will be returned by the community and people that he has selflessly looked after.
