Elder Law Lawyer Jeanne Desveaux

Jeanne Desveaux is a past chair of both the Canadian Bar Association National Elder Law section and the NS Elder Law section, as well as a member of the NS Health Authority Research Ethics Board. With a background in both the fields of health and law, Jeanne’s presentation will cover information on a number of important legal topics, including:

Understanding the Roles & Responsibilities of the Power of Attorney Document- what it does if you have one & what it means to be named in one;
Naming a Substitute Decision Maker –what everyone needs to know about having one, what happens when you don’t, as well as information on the capacity to make decisions, and Important Considerations in Estate Planning – how to protect your wishes and how to avoid the mistakes and misunderstandings that can cause things to go wrong.
