Laurie Bolivar has been entertaining Nova Scotian audiences since 1990. After providing lead guitar and vocals to Annapolis Valley bar bands such as Dorian Grey and the Rebel Angels, he spent years writing and performing his own original music, including a 2004 tour with 4X4 (a song circle of singer/songwriters). After a 10-year hiatus to pursue competitive archery, Laurie co-founded Plaid and Black, playing infectious harmony-focused covers in bars and festivals across the province. His current projects include solo performances and appearances with the Still Fired Band.
Laurie’s performances feature raspy, soul-filled vocals over intricate acoustic guitar arrangements, seasoned by mandolin and urgent harmonies, especially when he teams up with others musicians. He can be seen in pubs and venues around Nova Scotia.
