David Whitman will talk about the early history of Roxbury, the settlement, its inhabitants and its demise. Roxbury today! David and his Wife Paulette, of Bailey Chase Books, based in Paradise have published many books, including two about Roxbury, the once forgotten settlement on the Valley's south mountain.
Unlike other clubs we are not just about a monthly meeting. We have many interest groups- a great balance for healthy living!
The Newcomers’ Club welcomes all residents of the Annapolis Valley. You don’t have to be a newcomer or a Wolfville resident to come to the meetings or to join the group: long-time residents are also welcome. We provide community lore and wisdom! Enjoy fresh perked coffee and a sweet treat
Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month in the Wolfville Farmers’ Market Building, and are open to the public. They feature informative speakers on topics of local interest. Members can participate in the many interest groups such as needlework, book club, off-road biking, hiking, snowshoeing, Food & Fun, gourmet dining, bridge and gentle yoga. This is a great place to meet new people, learn about the area, and forge a sense of community.
