KNOW HOW TO SAVE A LIFE: CPR and AED HANDS ON
Maggie Rossiter, after a 38 year career in nursing, remains a shameless health advocate. She is a certified CPR/AED instructor as well as a certified personal trainer and yoga instructor.
Her nursing career has taken her from Seattle to Halifax and from Cardiac Care to old Grace Maternity hospital. She has conducted research, developing new drugs some of which were approved under the Food and Drug Administration and are widely used around the world today. She retired as Manager of Clinical Research at the Toronto General Department of Anesthesia, to the Cardiac OR at the QEII, where her passion for the human heart blossomed. Then she went on to teach at NSCC and Dalhousie School of Nursing.
She is highly qualified to provide insight into the essential life-saving skills of Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillation.
Unlike other clubs we are not just about a monthly meeting. We have many interest groups- a great balance for healthy living!
The Newcomers’ Club welcomes all residents of the Annapolis Valley. You don’t have to be a newcomer or a Wolfville resident to come to the meetings or to join the group: long-time residents are also welcome. We provide community lore and wisdom! Enjoy coffee, tea, water and a sweet treat.
They feature informative speakers on topics of local interest. Members can participate in the many interest groups such as needlework, book club, off-road biking, hiking, snowshoeing, Food & Fun, pot luck dinners; gourmet dining, bridge, scrabble and gentle yoga. This is a great place to meet new people, learn about the area, and forge a sense of community. Visit our website to learn more: www.wolfvillenewcomers.org
