Maritime Express presents, as part of Thursday music series: The Dearlies

The Dearlies formed in the summer of 2016 when sisters Jenny and Meagan Osburn sold their beloved restaurant and music venue, The Union Street Cafe, and Rebecca MacDonald returned to the Annapolis Valley after 9 years away. Meagan and Rebecca already knew they loved singing together from the early days of The Union Street Open Mic night but when Jenny added her voice to the mix that summer the trio felt a little magic happen. They got to work learning and arranging Rebecca's sweet original songs and some fun covers in three part harmony. A couple of years later they had a pretty long set list, an even longer list of band names, some fun gigs under their belts, and some new musical friends. In the summer of 2018 The Dearlies connected with Yukon singer songwriter Kim Barlow. They had admired her since she played The Union Street stage years before and she had serendipitously ended up back in NS. They are thrilled to have her in the band playing lead guitar and banjo and teaching them her catchy tunes. The Dearlies are also lucky enough to have Sarah McInnis on fiddle and Peter Williams on upright bass when they are available.
