Diversity and inclusion have been at the forefront in business and other services for the past few years. Research has shown that some of the most popular and well-rounded businesses and services have adopted an approach that includes difference providing new opportunities for underrepresented groups to participate more readily; in many cases, this has driven up the popularity of those businesses!
Sight Loss & Your Organization is for any business or organization providing services or programs to a customer. It will provide valuable information to make your space, services, and programs more accessible to people with sight loss. Topics include:
• Best practices for providing services to a customer with sight loss
• Easy accommodations that can be made to make your programs more accessible
• Physical cues that can be added to your space to help someone with sight loss navigate
• Community standards for print signage to increase visibility and readability
• Technology that people with sight loss may use to access your business and how to best engage with it
This free, 90-minute virtual workshop will be offered through Zoom.
To register for this workshop, please contact Jennifer MacNeil, Lead Employment CNIB Nova Scotia, Jennifer.MacNeil@cnib.ca or 902-401-8899.
Those who attend a workshop will also have their business and logo highlighted during Sight Loss & You Days, a virtual conference for Nova Scotians with sight loss focused on technology, advocacy, and wellness taking place October 22nd and 23rd.
This workshop is made possible through funding from the Shelburne Community Health Board, the Central Kings Community Health Board, and the Yarmouth County Community Health Board.
