DEAN JOBB an award-winning author and journalist and a professor at the University of King’s College in Halifax, will speak on his latest book, DARING DEVIOUS AND DEADLY, True tales of Crime and Justice from Nova Scotia’s Past—15 true tales of Crime and Justice that span 150 years of Nova Scotia History stories of greed, murder and vengeance.
Unlike other clubs we are not just about a monthly meeting. We have many interest groups- a great balance for healthy living! The outdoor activities are continuing during covid-19 but those that cannot easily be adapted to social distancing are suspended or are held virtually.
The Newcomers’ Club welcomes all residents of the Annapolis Valley. You don’t have to be a newcomer or a Wolfville resident to come to the meetings or to join the group: long-time residents are also welcome.
Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month VIA ZOOM and are open to the public. They feature informative speakers on topics of local interest. Members can participate in the many interest groups such as needlework, book club, off-road biking, hiking, snowshoeing, science Discussion group (SUSPENDED--Food & Fun, pot luck dinners; gourmet dining), bridge, scrabble and gentle yoga. This is a great place to meet new people learn about the area, and forge a sense of community. Visit our website to learn more: www.wolfvillenewcomers.org
