The Kentville Historical Society is sponsoring a guided walk in Kentville's Oak Grove Cemetery.
The Oak Grove cemetery dates back to 1774 and is full of fascinating people who helped shape Kentville today. Join a guided tour with Laura Churchill Duke, who researched and wrote the scripts for the Kentville ghost walks, and learn about the most famous privateer in the War of 1812, the young man who saved his boss' children from drowning, and the doctor who performed the first cataract surgery in Kentville. They are all buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
The walk will start at the Oak Grove Cemetery entrance, across from Burgher Hill. There is parking along Southview Avenue or Burgher Hill Drive.
The walk is by freewill donation to the Kentville historic society.
Please wear sturdy shoes, as the ground is uneven.
All COVID protocols to be followed.
Rain date: October 24, 11am-12pm.
