Flying Squirrels Forest Play is a nature play program for young children aged 3-5 years. We are pleased to offer this program with the support of Town of Kentville Recreation at the dynamic Kentville Gorge. Our Forest Play program is based on the values of equity and inclusion, openness and acceptance, nature care and awareness as well as emergent, child-led inquiry.
Outdoor play in nature is an essential part of children’s healthy development supporting their physical, emotional and mental well-being. Play is where young children learn such diverse skills and traits as physical literacy, communication, empathy, sharing, spatial awareness, problem solving, resilience and persistence. And the natural world is where humans have been playing for thousands of years. We are excited to play, learn and grow with your child this Spring!
