NOTE: Pre-registration is required as you need to know what supplies to bring!
Everyone loves the varied colours and shapes of the stones on our Nova Scotia beaches. They also make a great subject for painters at any skill level, including complete beginners.
First, there’s no way to paint a rock “wrong” freeing you to learn basic skills you can build on. You’re free to make them any shape you’d like, leaving you to learn easy watercolour techniques to make each stone unique as well as how to paint realistic sand to ‘anchor’ your stack of stones.
Over the course of this one-day class you will learn:
Masking to preserve highlights
Wet on wet painting
How to mix custom colours
Shadows with soft and hard edges
Techniques to create texture
How to create realistic sand
Materials list will be sent on paid registration.
